As referred from the Tom Wesselmann Studio, this is one from a series of small, handmade works, each uniquely painted in different color combinations. There were only 40 made, with the artist listing each by number and color combination in his records. For number 29 he listed “brown, dark brown ribbons, rosy-brown lace and strap” even though it says “cocoa brown” on the Sidney Janis label.
